World of Warcraft is taking several burst cooldowns off the global cooldown. You press the button now, and then for a limited time your abilities get better, and then the cooldown ends.
And a lot of those are getting taken off of the global cooldown with the next beta patch for Shadowlands. Now you can just press these buttons and start going, which is closer to older functionality for several. While players clearly have several more abilities they would prefer to have off of that global cooldown, seeing these ones moved off is obviously seen as a step in the right direction. But in the end, what is this really doing, do I just tie it into my macros and now its expected a shaman gives 30 haste. Though its still frustrating for some like this where the problem should have been handled better in the first place. Qualifying purchases through Amazon earn money for Massively OP as an Amazon associate. Global cooldown prevents players from being able to spam the majority of WoWs abilities as fast as they can, but up until now, those abilities havent applied to offensive cooldowns those that allow players to temporarily buff themselves. Changes to the alpha meant that almost all of those abilities joined the GCD roster, removing many interesting decisions from the game by allowing players to simply activate all of their abilities with the press of a single button. The major grievance seemed to be that the changes made the game feel significantly slower than before, and as such Blizzard have reverted some of the abilities to their previous state. In the QA, game director Ion Hazzikostas said that players will see abilities like Heroic Leap and Infernal Strike back off the GCD, as well as abilities like Hunters Disengage and some other changes to Fury Warrior Blood Bath. More changes to the system could be on the way, and Blizzard are asking for more detailed feedback on the system going forward. If you cant wait that long, youre in luck the Battle for Azeroth beta went live earlier this week.
